Dr. Sanjay Gupta is now officially Dr. Buzzkill ... 'cause the CNN correspondent tells TMZ Sports, a "beer coat" will NOT keep you warm at frigid Super Bowl XLVIII -- and could actually mess you up badly.

For most fans ... booze goes hand-in-hand with the big game -- but with it going down outdoors, at Met Life Stadium this year ... we asked the good doc if it's still a good idea to swill alcohol in what's expected to be freezing February temps.

The news ain't good ... 'cause the Gup says even though getting wasted might make you feel warm ... it actually makes your body lose more heat.

We now know who won the Johnny Manziel sweepstakes -- and we're not talking about an NFL team ... we're talking hot chicks! Blonde or brunette ... did Johnny make the right call? You make the call!

Plus, Jonathan Martin partying with strippers ... with a big smile on his face. Still buying his claim that Richie Incognito bullied him and other Dolphins teammates into having meetings at strip clubs?

Cliff Robinson -- one of the ex-NBA stars who's in North Korea with Dennis Rodman -- knows his trip has turned into an international "train wreck" and expects serious backlash when he returns to the U.S. ... so says his wife.

TMZ Sports spoke with Heather Robinson -- who's appeared on "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" -- and she tells us her husband initially agreed to join Rodman because he thought he could help "bridge cultural differences with basketball."

But after Rodman went on CNN and defended the country's dictator/murderer Kim Jong Un -- while wildly screaming at the news anchor -- Heather says her hubby knew he had instantly become a part of a PR nightmare.

"The look on Cliff's face when Dennis was talking during the CNN interview, it was pure shock and confusion ... it's the look he used to give when a referee used to make a bad call."

Heather says Cliff and the rest of the players have heard the criticism -- but she wants everyone to know, "In his heart, [Cliff] did this thinking it was a good idea. He thought he was doing something good."

Stephon Marbury doesn't make good decisions (see: eating vaseline) ... but he made a spectacularly bad decision back in 2007 in a deal for a Land Rover, this according to legal docs obtained by TMZ Sports.

Marbury -- who made more than $88 MILLION in his NBA career -- is being sued for "refusing" to make his car payments on a Land Rover he bought back in 2007.

But the real story is the contract Stephon signed with the dealer -- which shows he agreed to a 6-year lease on the $96k vehicle ... with a ridiculously high 11.5% interest rate.

If you're keeping score ... Marbury agreed to pay roughly $37,000 IN INTEREST ALONE if he kept the car through the end of the lease for a total of $133k on a $96k whip.

That's not fiscally responsible.

As for the lawsuit, the creditors claim Stephon stopped making payments in 2012 ... and owes them $35k for the car.

4:01 PM PT -- We did some more digging and discovered Rodman owes an additional $278,543 in unpaid income tax to the great State of California ... bringing his total debt to $453,027.99.

The U.S. government has a serious bone to pick with Dennis Rodman ... and not just because he's gallivanting around North Korea -- he still owes more than $174k in unpaid taxes, TMZ Sports has learned.

Official government records, obtained by TMZ Sports, show The Worm is still in serious debt ... owing $174,484.99 in unpaid state and federal taxes.

The docs show Worm owes:

-- $165,818 in federal taxes
-- $8,666.99 to the State of Michigan

The tax issues date all the way back to 2007 ... it's unclear why Rodman hasn't paid back his debt.

Jameis Winston just got a HUGE endorsement for his dreams of playing in the MLB ... 'cause Matt Kemp tells TMZ Sports, Winston has the athletic skills to be the next great two-sport athlete.

The injured Dodgers star was hobbling around Beverly Hills this week ... when we asked him if he thinks the Heisman winner has what it takes to be the next Bo Jackson or Deion Sanders.

Kemp admitted he hasn't actually seen the kid play baseball yet ... but with his freakish athletic ability and cannon of an arm ... he thinks the FSU QB could be a stud in the majors.

FYI -- Winston was the 15th round pick for the Texas Rangers coming out of high school ... and will be playing right field, DH, and pitcher for the #5 ranked Seminoles in the next few weeks.

Jonathan Martin didn't look like a man who was dragged into hitting strip clubs before he accused teammate Richie Incognito of bullying ... at least judging by this pic, which is now in the hands of investigators and obtained by TMZ Sports.

Of course, after Martin left the Miami Dolphins in the wake of his bullying allegations against Richie, there were reports Incognito had been holding linemen meetings at Tootsie's Cabaret in Miami ... and players who didn't show up were fined and mocked.

But sources connected to the NFL investigation tell TMZ Sports ... Martin had sent several text messages to Richie before the fallout making it clear he was VERY comfortable hanging out in strip clubs.

In fact, we're told the picture (above) was taken at Tootsie's during a team outing in the summer of 2013. Sources connected to the strip club tell us Martin was hanging out with roughly 15 to 30 teammates that night and appeared to be enjoying himself (just look at the grin and the stack of cash in his hand).

We're also told ... the text messages show Martin would OFTEN reach out to Incognito about his fondness for strip clubs, especially Tootsie's ... and never gave any hint that he was ever uncomfortable in that scene.

In one of the texts, sent in June 2013, Martin told Incognito he liked Tootsie's so much, he planned to bring some visiting high school friends to the joint for a good time.

There's more ... we're also told the text exchanges show a conversation in which Martin said he couldn't make it out one night because "Mary Jane" had him glued to his couch.

We also know investigators have obtained hundreds of texts between Richie and Martin, which show they often exchanged graphic taunts ... and that Martin gave as good as he got. Incognito has previously explained that he considered Martin one of his best friends and that the texts were in good fun.

He did it everyone ... Johnny Manziel made a decision!!! He finally picked one of the TWO hot chicks he went clubbing with in Hollywood this week for a SECOND DATE ... and TMZ Sports has the footage.

And the winner is ... THE HOT BLONDE MODEL CHICK!!!

Of course, Johnny was first spotted with the blonde (her name is Lauren) on Sunday when he was leaving Emerson nightclub with ANOTHER attractive lady in tow.

But last night, the Texas A&M quarterback took Lauren to a nice romantic sushi dinner at Katsuya in Hollywood ... with the help of a chauffeur-driven SUV. No word on what happened to the brunette.

After the date, Manziel talked to us about his brain fart on ESPN2 during the BCS Championship, admitting it was a little embarrassing, but all part of the growing process.

He also defended his friend Jameis Winston against all of the people who tried to attack his intelligence after the BCS title game.

"He's a great dude ... I talked to him today," Manziel said ... adding, "I've got a lot of respect for Jameis. I'm really proud of him."

Michelle Rodriguez upstaged the NY Knicks from her courtside seats by drunkenly posing for ridiculous selfies ... and snuggling up to smoking hot model Cara Delevingne.

Michelle was all over Cara -- and looked totally out of it -- while putting on what has to be the greatest party chick clinic in NBA history last night at Madison Square Garden.

It's unclear if Michelle -- who's proudly stated going "both ways" in the past -- scored after the game ... but click through the gallery.

Looks to us like Michelle put in enough work to earn some overtime.

Oh, the Knicks won the game. But who cares?

Tim Tebow says he's not the next Nostradamus ... or even the next Miss Cleo ... after nearly predicting the final score in the BCS Championship (he was off by 1 point) ... telling TMZ Sports, "Sometimes you just get lucky!"

Tebow was at LAX yesterday when we asked him about the prediction that rocked the sports world -- he appeared in his first ever gig as an ESPN analyst before the BCS game and said he thought FSU would beat Auburn 35-31.

He wasn't far off ... the final score was 34-31.

We also spoke to Tim about critics like former NFL star Jamie Dukes (see video below) who say Tim won't succeed as an NFL analyst because he's too damn nice.

Of course, Tim shot that theory down ... in the nicest way possible.

FSU head coach Jimbo Fisher says the fact ESPN reporter Heather Cox interviewed him instead of Jameis Winston last night, had NOTHING to do with her springing rape questions on the QB back in December.

The Seminoles coach told TMZ Sports -- outside the team hotel on Tuesday -- the university did not give ESPN any parameters about who would interview Winston ... even though Jameis ran away from his last interview with Cox on Dec. 7th when she fired off a series of questions about the rape investigation.

We also spoke with Heather about the post-game interview assignments ... and she backed up the coach, saying it was "totally standard procedure."

Cox explained, "When two reporters are covering the game, the reporter that covers the winning team interviews the winning coach, and the other reporter interviews a winning player."

Cox says if the game had gone the other way last night, she would've spoken with Auburn's QB Nick Marshall after the game.

Besides ... sources connected to FSU tell us Jameis actually reached out to Cox after the December interview to make it clear he had no hard feelings.

As Jameis might put it ... no harm, no foul.

The girl who sued Kris Humphries for giving her herpes has slept with so many men ... she can't say for sure whether the NBA star is actually the one responsible for transmitting it -- this according to new court docs.

TMZ broke the story, Kayla Goldberg sued Humphries in 2012, claiming she had unprotected sex with Humphries two years prior in 2010 and he gave her genital herpes.

But apparently suing Kris isn't the only thing that's easy -- according to new docs filed by Humphries' attorneys, Kayla admitted during a recent deposition that she has no hard evidence he's the one who gave her the herp ... because she's had multiple sexual partners.

Humphries wants her lawsuit dismissed.

We broke the story ... video of Yasiel Puig's arrest for speeding 110 mph down a Florida highway -- and the cop raises a great point: Who the hell speeds like that with their mother in the car?? Think Puig got the point?

Sir Charles was getting the hell outta dodge at LAX today ... when he broke down the game for TMZ Sports in true Zen fashion -- explaining why his Alma Mater still had a great season even though they suffered the crushing defeat.

The NBA Hall-of-Famer knows first hand what it feels like to be on the losing side of a championship game -- his Phoenix Suns lost to the Chicago Bulls back in '93.

TMZ Sports has obtained dash cam footage from Yasiel Puig's speeding arrest ... which shows the L.A. Dodgers star being reamed out and handcuffed by a PISSED OFF Highway Patrol officer.

As we previously reported, Puig was arrested in Collier County, Florida on Dec. 28 when officers say he was driving a white Benz at speeds of 110 mph, with his mom and two other passengers in the car.

During the arrest, the cop becomes ENRAGED when he learns that Puig was driving so fast with his mother in the car -- and begins to yell at the Cuban born baseball star in Spanish.
He also tells Puig that he could have killed his mother.

During the stop, Puig's mother is crying hysterically as Yasiel is taken into the back of the squad car.

At one point, one of the troopers tells Yasiel in Spanish, "You don't care about your own mother's life?!"

As Yasiel is being led to the squad car, he desperately pleads with the trooper to let him go ... saying in Spanish, "Officer, I'm sorry ... I'm begging you, sir."

One of the male passengers in Yasiel's car gets out of the car and approaches the arresting officer -- who FLIPS OUT ... and screams at the guy to get back in the Benz.

BCS champ Jameis Winston is lashing back at the haters who think he sounded like a buffoon during his post-game interview yesterday -- basically telling them to suck it ... because HE'S THE NATIONAL CHAMPION.

If you stuck around to watch Jameis speak after last night's game, you'd know what we're talking about. The FSU QB wasn't exactly the most articulate guy on the field.

But Jameis doesn't give a crap, tweeting moments ago, "For the people that criticize the way that I talk this is for y'all. The Florida State Seminoles are national champions! That is all."
