Good news for Dwyane Wade ... he's officially received Shaq's approval to marry Gabrielle Union -- and the Big Man tells TMZ Sports he's GLAD D-Wade dropped $1 million on the engagement ring!!

Shaq hit up the Boys & Girls Club of Venice yesterday to spread a little holiday cheer as "Shaq-a-Claus" ... ya gotta see the clip of Shaq ordering the kids to sing Jingle Bells (see below), PRICELESS!!!!

But on his way into the center, Shaq had some words for the NBA's newest engaged couple -- it's actually pretty sweet.

Jerry Jones needs to 86 Jason Garrett's ass and replace him with a TOUGHER head coach, so says Dallas Cowboys superfan (and NBA stud) Stephen Jackson.

The L.A. Clippers small forward (who's from Houston) was rockin' his Cowboys hat out in L.A. last night when we asked about the state of America's Team ... and it was obvious, dude's bummed out about the injury to Tony Romo.

"IT SUCKS," Jackson said.

But when we asked if it's time to drop the head coach, Jackson had some very interesting thoughts ... telling us he thinks Garrett is just too soft to run the Cowboys.

Lamar Odom's friends are deeply concerned that he's hitting the bottle way too hard lately ... and they're worried that he's drinking to cope with a serious bout of depression, TMZ Sports has learned.

We know ... Lamar has been boozing A LOT lately ... most recently he was spotted in AV Nightclub clutching a bottle of champagne all night long.

Before that, he sprung for rounds of drinks at a bar in Rhode Island ... and before that, he was taking tequila shots at Beacher's Madhouse. He had also told friends that his bizarre rap video was the result of a hardcore drinking session.

Sources connected to Odom tell us ... there's been LOTS of boozing in private as well.

We're told his friends believe Lamar is seriously depressed ... stemming from his unsuccessful NBA comeback and his ongoing divorce from Khloe Kardashian.

Kurt Warner says Tim Tebow's best shot for an NFL career ... is to LEAVE the league -- at least for a while.

The former Super Bowl MVP was at LAX ... and he told TMZ Sports he doesn't believe Tim can secure another NFL job unless he plays in ANOTHER league first.

Kurt -- who knows a thing or two about roundabout paths to becoming a starting QB -- says he's rooting for the guy, but unless Tim makes the jump to the CFL or another pro league to hone his skills, his NFL career is done.

They might not always get along, but UFC prez Dana White says he's GLAD Rampage Jackson punked an alleged ass-grabber last night ... and the dude's lucky Rampage didn't destroy him.

We broke the story, Rampage threatened to put a clubgoer in the hospital after the guy allegedly got a little too butt-squeezy with the MMA fighter's GF at a Hollywood nightclub.

Dana skyped into "TMZ Sports" today and told us ... he thinks ANYONE who violates a female deserves a good old fashioned ass kicking.

"If you're gonna go around and be a scumbag and touch people's asses that aren't your girlfriend ... you better make sure it's not Rampage's."

Matt Kemp is NOT filling Lamar Odom's shoes ... telling TMZ Sports there's no romantic relationship with Khloe Kardashian, despite rumors to the contrary -- they're just "friends."

The L.A. Dodgers superstar was leaving a doctor's office in Bev Hills moments ago ... WITHOUT his walking boot ... when he explained his situation with Khloe.

He even gave the K-fam a shout out.

As for his injury -- it's the first time we've seen Kemp out in public without the medical brace since he underwent surgery to remove bone spurs from his left ankle back in October.

Kemp also talked about another injured L.A. stud -- Kobe Bryant ... telling us he's confident the Mamba will hit the court HARD when he recovers from his newest injury.

TMZ Sports knows why Rampage Jackson threatened to DESTROY a clubgoer in Hollywood this weekend ... and it all has to do with an alleged ass grab.

Texas A&M football star Darian Claiborne hid marijuana and prescription pills in a giant Hershey's Kiss ornament inside of a friend's car .. this according to a police report obtained by TMZ Sports.

19-year-old Claiborne -- a linebacker who's tied for the team lead in tackles -- was arrested on December 22 in Texas ... after a routine traffic stop went horribly south.

According to cops, Claiborne was riding in a car without front plates ... and 2 of the 3 occupants were NOT wearing seatbelts.

During the stop, the officer at the scene says he smelled pot coming from the passenger side, where Claiborne was sitting ... though Claiborne insisted the odor was from a Black & Mild cigar.

The cops searched the car and found a "red plastic Hershey's kiss ornament" in the center console ... and inside, it contained a small bag of weed and 5 white and blue capsules.

According to the report, Claiborne said the pills were Adderall that his roommate had given him to help cram for finals. Claiborne did not have a prescription.

The cop says he also found a partially smoked blunt located in a shoe found on the floorboard of the car.

Claiborne was eventually arrested and booked for possession of a dangerous drug and possession of marijuana. He was released on a $6,000 bond.

Lamar Odom put himself back in the danger zone this weekend ... hitting up a Hollywood nightclub 'til 2 AM ... while he's supposed to be focused on a substance-free comeback to the NBA.

TMZ Sports shot footage of Odom leaving AV Nightclub early Sunday morning ... where he was partying with one of his pals.

Unclear if Lamar was actually drinking inside the place ... but it's not exactly the message Lamar -- who has a long, well-known substance abuse problem -- wants to send to NBA teams.

Odom had previously told TMZ Sports he wants to get back on the court by the first of the year so he can save his legacy and be remembered as a great basketball player.

Reputations aren't rebuilt in nightclubs.

FYI -- Lamar was also wearing his wedding ring and made sure we saw it ... despite the fact Khloe Kardashian stopped wearing hers a while ago.

Rampage Jackson was thiiiiis close to DESTROYING some guy outside of a Hollywood club this weekend -- threatening to SEND HIM TO THE HOSPITAL if he didn't apologize for disrespecting Rampage's GF ... and TMZ Sports has the footage.

The ex-UFC light heavyweight champ faced off with the seemingly intoxicated clubber outside AV Nightclub early Sunday morning ... after Rampage was told the clubber grabbed his girlfriend's butt.

You can hear Rampage tell the guy, "TELL MY GIRLFRIEND SORRY AND YOU AIN'T GONNA DO THAT S**T NO MORE ... OR YOU ABOUT TO GO TO THE F**KING HOSPITAL."

When Rampage's threat was met with a dumbfounded look from the clubber, the MMA fighter shot back ... "You think I'm lying??? He thinks I'm lying!!"

Eventually, security got between the two and broke up the situation ... probably saving the clubber's life in the process.

And there's this ... We never actually heard the clubber apologize.

Rampage has to be careful when it comes to street brawling -- since he's a trained fighter with lethal force , his hands almost certainly would be considered a lethal weapon under the law ... and he could get in enormous trouble if he hurt somebody.

Rampage is no stranger to public displays of aggression -- back in 2008, he led cops on a crazy monster truck chase through Orange County, CA ... and was eventually taken into custody at gunpoint.

L.A. Dodgers star Carl Crawford is in a nasty custody war with one of his baby mamas ... and it's gotten so bad, he's begging a judge to BLOCK her from moving to California ... TMZ Sports has learned.

We know ... the Dodgers' $142 million man is fighting with Amy Freeman -- the mother of his 9-year-old son and 5-month-old daughter.

FYI -- Crawford's new lady Evelyn Lozada is currently 6-months pregnant with Carl's unborn child ... so, yeah ... do the math on that one.

Anyway, according to legal docs obtained by TMZ Sports, Carl claims Amy has lived in Arizona for the past 12 years where she's been raising the two kids and everything was fine ... until October.

That's when, Carl claims, Amy suddenly packed up and moved out west ... pulling the 9-year-old out of school and putting the family home up for sale.

In the legal docs, Carl says Amy insists she's making the move because she wants the kids to be closer to their dad.

But Carl's calling BS ... claiming she only went to Cali to take advantage of the more favorable child support laws. Translation -- Carl thinks she's only after his money.

Now, Carl is asking the judge to stop Amy from relocating ... the same way Steve Nash tried to block his ex from moving to L.A. after he left the Phoenix Suns for the Lakers.

Every kiss begins with ... an engagement ring that costs MORE THAN MOST PEOPLE MAKE THEIR WHOLE FRICKIN' LIVES -- if you're Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade, that is.

Dwyane popped the question Saturday night with an 8.5 carat cushion cut diamond ring (pictured below) made by go-to celeb jeweler Jason of Beverly Hills ... and TMZ has learned it goes for nearly 1 million bucks.

We're told Dwyane had been on the hunt for months for the stone of her dreams ... and his jeweler made 3 trips to Miami looking for the perfect jewel ... and third time was a charm.

Bravo.

NHL star Tyler Seguin trash-talked the police in Cape Cod, MA ... right behind their backs ... saying, "F**k the 5-0" -- moments after shaking their hands ... and TMZ Sports has the footage.

The 21-year-old Dallas Stars player was hangin' out at a 4th of July party in Cape Cod back in the summer ... when cops responded to a noise complaint.

When the footage begins, it seems Tyler has smoothed things out with the cops ... who are smiling and laughing with the NHL player ... before exchanging goodbye handshakes.

But as the cops turn the corner to leave, Tyler turns to his friends and whispers, "F**k the 5-0."

He then asks the group if they should start a "f*ck the po-po" chant ... to which everyone cries "no!"

Interesting fact -- the incident took place on the same weekend Seguin was traded from the Bruins to the Stars ... after Boston got fed up with his bad boy antics.

Seguin has performed a sort of image makeover since joining the stars ... the incident with Cape Cop police seems to be the last rebellious thing he did before cleaning up his act.

Trent Richardson's orgy tape has fallen flat ... at least in the sex tape market ... 'cause TMZ Sports has learned there have been exactly ZERO offers made to buy the X-rated footage.

We broke the story ... someone was shopping some extremely explicit video of the Indianapolis Colts running back getting down and dirty with THREE different women.

The seller was hoping the tape would score a quick payday ... but after months of shopping it around to various outlets, the person is pulling the plug on the whole plan after no one made a lucrative offer.

UFC champ Chris Weidman says the second time around Anderson Silva will be just like the first -- the fight will end prematurely and Chris will end up keeping the belt.

Chris was super confident and relaxed about next week's fight in Vegas. He has to drop A LOT of weight and, shockingly, he says most of it is water.

Washington Redskins tight end Fred Davis is firing back against the woman who sued him for assaulting her in a nightclub in 2011 ... then sued him AGAIN for defamation this year ... claiming she can't sue him twice over the same incident.

TMZ broke the story ... a female clubgoer named Makini Chaka accused Davis of throwing a drink at her in a D.C. nightclub back in 2011, and then striking her in the lip with a champagne bottle. She sued over her injuries and emotional distress and won $19,761 in court.

But the legal war didn't end there: Chaka (who runs a company that procures celebrities for events) has filed a NEW lawsuit ... this time for defamation ... claiming Fred has been badmouthing her around town in the wake of her original lawsuit.

Chaka says Davis has started rumors that she actually runs a prostitution ring, calling her things like a "pimp, pimpette, and/or madam."

Fred isn't about to pony up extra cash though ... he just filed a legal response, telling Chaka to buzz off.
