Trash talking boxer Adrien Broner got his ass beat and his welterweight title stripped in a stunning loss to Marcos Maidana this Saturday ... but TMZ Sports has learned, there's now a full-blown investigation into allegations of cheating.

Sources close to "the Problem" tell us ... the Texas Boxing Commission is now analyzing video of the fight which some say shows Maidana taking what looks like a pill during the WBA welterweight championship fight last Saturday.

The rules are so strict ... even water needs to be tested prior to a fight before the boxer can consume it. Pills and any other substance for that matter are off limits.

Broner -- who was previously undefeated -- says the loss hasn't shattered his ego ... he's confident the investigation will prove Maidana cheated.

We're told the boxing commission will reveal the results of the investigation in 1-2 days.

Playing yourself in a video game is one of the first big signs that you've "made it" as a pro athlete -- but pro golfer Stewart Cink actually expects us to believe he's never ONCE indulged in a little virtual self-love.

NFL star Dwight Freeney is furious that the woman who swindled millions of dollars from him is getting away with a slap on the wrist, and he's begging a judge to send her ass to prison ... TMZ Sports has learned.

In court docs filed Monday in Cali ... the Chargers LB calls his ex-financial advisor Eva Weinberg's plea deal a "travesty of justice."

As we previously reported, Eva -- along with her lover and partner in crime, Michael Stern -- jacked at least $2.2 mil from Freeney back in 2010, when they were handling his finances.

Stern pled guilty ... and got 5 years in federal lockup. He also had to return $2.5 million in stolen loot.

Eva also pled guilty to a lesser charge in exchange for a lighter sentence ... 36-months probation with 8 months being served under house arrest.

But in the docs, Freeney claims Weinberg "lied repeatedly to the [prosecutor] and FBI" about her involvement in the scheme -- laying most of the blame on Stern -- just to score an unfairly sweet deal.

Boston Bruins star Milan Lucic dropped the gloves outside the rink last night ... brawling late night on the streets of Vancouver, and the whole thing was caught on tape.

It all went down around 4 AM outside The Queen's Republic on Granville St. -- where Milan was filmed trading blows with some random Canuck ... and Milan repeatedly asks him, "Do you know who you're f***n' with?"

Vancouver PD tells us ... some cops on foot patrol were able to break up the fight. They talked to both men but no arrests were made and no criminal charges were filed.

Milan's opponent appeared to suffer a busted lip ... but other than that, no harm no foul.

Tony Romo quickly put his latest December disaster behind him -- and temporarily silenced his legion of haters -- by visiting a Dallas children's hospital this morning.

Romo and some of his Dallas Cowboys teammates went to the Children's Medical Center of Dallas on Monday to hand out gifts to sick kids after their crushing loss to the Green Bay Packers yesterday.

We're told it's tradition for the team to visit several children's hospitals in the Dallas area around the holidays.

Another less popular tradition -- late season Cowboy collapses and fans screaming for Romo's head.

Gotta hand it to him though -- amid all the hate Romo still showed up for the kids.
