Boxing champ Andre Ward is picking a fight with his own promoter -- claiming the guy illegally TRAPPED him into staying with the company for the rest of his career ... and Andre wants out.

TMZ Sports has obtained legal docs filed in L.A. County Superior Court ... in which the reigning WBA super middleweight champ claims Goossen Tutor Promotions broke the law by signing him to a series of contracts that lock him up until 2016.

Ward says he signed the initial deal back in 2004, and because CA labor laws prevent companies from signing people for more than 7 years at a time, he should be able to leave Goossen for greener pastures. He wants a judge to void the contract ASAP.

In fact, Ward is turning to Oscar De La Hoya for support (at least, in his legal docs) claiming ODLH filed a similar lawsuit against Top Rank Boxing back in 2001 ... AND WON ... so he should get the same result.

He already lost a Super Bowl ring (thanks to burglars) .. but now ex-Chicago Bears wide receiver Willie Gault is about to lose some more finger jewelry .. 'cause his wife just filed for divorce TMZ Sports has learned.

According to court docs filed in L.A. County Superior Court, Gault's wife -- actress Suzan Brittan -- wants to end the couple's 5-year marriage, citing irreconcilable differences.

Suzan and the 53-year-old former NFL star have no children together.

Suzan wants Willie to pay for her attorney's fees and she also wants spousal support.

College football superstar Jadeveon Clowney -- the projected #1 pick in the 2014 NFL Draft -- may be too fast for his own good ... 'cause he was popped for doing 110 in a 70 MPH zone.

According to law enforcement, the South Carolina defensive end was stopped by SC State Highway Patrol on Saturday night in his Chrysler 300 for allegedly driving 40 MPH over the speed limit.

The 20-year-old was immediately ticketed ...but not arrested.

Not the best thing to happen to Jadeveon -- considering NFL teams are reportedly concerned about his off the field behavior.

LeBron James is way better than Michael Jordan ... at least when it comes to acting ... if you believe LBJ's future co-star, Kevin Hart.

If you haven't heard, Kevin and LeBron just announced they're making a movie together called "Ballers" -- LeBron plays a basketball player, and Kevin plays his brother who finally gets his chance to be a hoops star.

So, last night outside Greystone Manor we asked Kevin if LeBron really has acting chops -- in other words ... is he closer to MJ in "Space Jam" or Ray Allen in "He Got Game."

Lamar Odom just cut a deal in his DUI case -- agreeing to plead "no contest" to the crime and in exchange he'll be on probation for the next 3 years ... TMZ has learned.

We broke the story ... Odom was arrested in L.A. on August 30 at 3:25 AM after cops saw him driving too slow on the 101 Freeway. He flunked field sobriety tests and refused to submit to a blood alcohol test. He was ultimately charged with one count of DUI.

But today, Lamar struck a deal with prosecutors ... and in addition to 3 years of probation, he's required to complete an alcohol education class by June 9.

He's also been ordered to pay $1,814 in fines and fees.

He's played with a ton of stars ... from Chris Brown to The Game ... even Brian McKnight -- but ex-NBA stud Doug Christie says there's one Hollywood star who has SERIOUS GAME.

Christie was arriving to Basketball Results West's 2nd Annual Celebrity game in L.A. yesterday ... when we asked if there's any non-athlete celeb who could compete with the pros.

His answer -- "The dark-skinned guy."

Kobe Bryant played like a big steaming pile of horse sh*t in his comeback performance last night -- at least that's how he described it in a post-game interview ... and it all went UNCUT on air.

She may be a "Basketball Wife," but the father of Evelyn Lozada's fetus is a pro BASEBALL player ... a very wealthy (naturally) pro baseball player.

TMZ Sports has confirmed the soon-to-be baby daddy is L.A. Dodgers outfielder Carl Crawford -- he's 32 years old, he's a 4-time All-Star ... and in 2010 he signed a $142 MILLION contract.

Sources close to the couple tell us the VH1 reality star has been dating Carl for the better part of a year now and it's getting serious (no kidding).

As we reported, Lozada's pregnancy wasn't accidental -- she and Crawford planned to have the child together.

Hernandez fired the letter off to a male penpal right before Thanksgiving ... and after going on about how he's still innocent, and still not sweating the murder charge yada, yada, yada ... he punctuated his letter with a sketch of a Kardashianesque nude.

And like a true, serious artist, he included a caption: "Dats a bad bitch lol."

Not bad work, but we're guessing the New Yorker won't be calling anytime soon.

Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen are HAULING ASS on their massive new construction in Brookline, MA -- TMZ has learned, they're employing roughly 100 workers per day to get the job done by this summer ... and we've got pics of the site.

Sources close to the job tell TMZ, Tom and Gisele want the whole project completed by July ... which is a tall order, considering the 5-bedroom 4-bathroom house is ENORMOUS ... 14,317 sq. ft. to be exact ... spread out over 5.2 acres.

Kordell Stewart tried to legally block Porsha Williams from blabbing about his personal life on "Real Housewives of ATL" back in April ... but she blew him off and trashed him anyway, TMZ has learned.

TMZ obtained legal docs showing the former NFL star approached Porsha back in April (right after he filed for divorce) and asked her to sign a confidentiality agreement ... in which they would both agree to keep their marriage problems private.

But Porsha -- probably knowing if she didn't talk about Kordell, she would lose screen time (and possibly her role on the show) -- refused to sign the document ... and turned up the Kordell-bashing to an all-time high. During the show, she even implied he was secretly gay.

The marriage officially ended last week -- and just a few days after the divorce was finalized, Porsha seemed extremely pleased with her new single status.

Jayson Williams has threatened to KILL another person ... so says his estranged wife, who claims the ex-NBA star went on a violent tirade in front of their two young daughters, who now fear for their lives.

TMZ Sports has obtained official documents filed in California by Tanya Williams ... who's seeking child support and health insurance for the couple's two daughters (ages 11 and 9) now that Jayson's out of prison for the killing of his limo driver back in 2002.

But in the documents, Tanya says Jayson is still as violent as ever ... writing:

"Recently, Jayson's actions put my daughters in fear for their lives including punching a ceiling screaming, 'I want to kill someone.'"

There's more ... Tanya claims Jayson also yelled at their 9-year-old daughter that he "quit being her dad" and he "never wanted to see them again."

Tanya says the children are "severely traumatized and beginning therapy."

It's unclear how much cash Tanya is hoping to get in monthly child support -- but she lists Jayson's gross monthly income at $15,000.

Not bad for a guy who hasn't played in the NBA since 1999.

Prince Harry and the Brits are handing down a royal ass whupping to Team USA -- led by 'True Blood' star Alexander Skarsgard -- during their epic race at the South Pole, and TMZ has the footage.

In case you missed it -- Harry, Alexander, and Dominic West from "The Wire" are each leading teams on a 208-mile journey across the South Pole for the Walk with the Wounded race.

TMZ had the first pics of the teams training -- and one week into the competition Team UK is in first ... followed by Team Commonwealth (led by Dominic) ...while Skarsgard's U.S. crew is bringing up the rear.
