NFL's Final Decision TERRIBLE Call Stands

Published | Updated

The NFL is backing what's being called the WORST CALL IN LEAGUE HISTORY -- refusing to overturn last night's Seattle Seahawks touchdown against the Green Bay Packers ... and standing by their replacement refs.

League officials released a statement moments ago, saying, "Referee Wayne Elliott determined that no indisputable visual evidence existed to overturn the call on the field, and as a result, the on-field ruling of touchdown stood."

The NFL goes on to say upon even further review of the video today ... it supports the "decision not to overturn the on-field ruling" and the result of the game is final.

In other news, NFL broadcasts are now available in braille.

Green Bay Mayor Tells NFL Honcho Get These Refs Out!

Published | Updated

The Mayor of Green Bay is so pissed about last night's game -- where replacement refs ROBBED the Packers of a win -- he's going straight to the NFL's head honcho to demand the real refs get back on the job ... TMZ has learned.

Mayor James Schmitt tells TMZ he's drafting a letter to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell ... urging him to end the ref lockout because it's compromising the integrity of the NFL.

Exhibit A -- last night's refs robbing the Packers of a win by incorrectly calling Green Bay's interception in the endzone ...a touchdown for the Seattle Seahawks. The Pack lost 14-12.

Schmitt says, "This is not right. I understand talent costs money, but when it comes to the crucial role of the referees ... it has to be a top priority."

Hizzoner is in a unique position because he's also a shareholder in the Green Bay Packers -- the only NFL team publicly owned.

But the Mayor makes it clear ... "We are not protesting losing the game. We are protesting the quality of officiating."

Church.

Packers T.J. Lang Curses Out Refs Dares NFL to Fine Him

Published | Updated

Green Bay Packers guard T.J. Lang must love throwing away money -- 'cause after last night's disastrous ending to the Packers-Seahawks game, he blasted the refs with a tweet that's gonna cost him a ton o' cheese.

In case you missed what EVERYONE is talking about ... Monday Night Football ended with the biggest blown call in NFL history -- the Packers intercepted a Seahawks Hail Mary pass in the endzone, but the replacement refs (unbelievably) said Seattle's Golden Tate simultaneously caught it ... thereby screwing the Packers.

Lang immediately hit up his Twitter page after the game, saying ... "Got f**ked by the refs.. Embarrassing. Thanks nfl"

Knowing full well that tweet would cost him ... Lang followed up with, "F**k it NFL.. Fine me and use the money to pay the regular refs."

No word yet from Commissioner Roger Goodell's office on just how much Lang will be fined -- it WILL be a lot.

But considering how badly the refs blew the call, we gotta ask ...

Falcons' John Abraham Arrested on Scene of Attempted Suicide

Published | Updated

Atlanta Falcons sack king John Abraham refused to be stopped last night by police who were dealing with a suicidal woman ... and, as a result, got himself arrested on two charges of obstruction.

Abraham was busted by Atlanta PD when he allegedly refused to leave an area officers had taped off because a woman was threatening to jump off a building.

Abraham -- the NFL's active career sacks leader with 114 -- got out of jail early Tuesday morning on $7,000 bond.

The Falcons are 0 for 2 with cops this season -- the team's star running back Michael Turner was busted for DUI and speeding last week in Atlanta.

BTW ... the woman did not jump.

Rampage Jackson I Was Named After a VIOLENT Video Game

Published | Updated

For the first time ever -- that we can find -- Quinton "Rampage" Jackson has revealed how he got his legendary nickname ... and it all stems from a violent 8-bit gorilla.

The former UFC champ says his cousin coined his famous moniker after playing the arcade classic from the '80s ... "Rampage."

For the uninitiated, Rampage featured a couple of smashaholic monsters pummeling their way through cities by plowing their fists through skyscrapers ... it was awesome.

And now you know.

Chicago Hockey Legend BURNS Jay Cutler Jersey [VIDEO]

Published | Updated

Chicago Bears QB Jay Cutler might officially be the most hated man in the Windy City -- because last night, one of Chicago's most storied sports legends turned his back on the guy ... TORCHING Cutler's jersey inside a bar.

The video was shot inside Stanley's Kitchen and Tap in Downtown Chicago -- showing Chicago Blackhawks legend Chris Chelios lighting Jay's jersey on fire while some hot chick dangles it from her fingers.

One source inside the bar tells us Chris lit the jersey then said, Cutler's "nothing but a bitch."

FYI -- Cutler has been under heavy fire in Chicago from Bears fans who think he's not just a terrible QB ... but a cancer in the locker room who's bringing down the team.

Cutler's performance on Sunday didn't do much to win over his critics -- Jay had a very underwhelming performance in the Bears victory over the Rams ... throwing an interception and ZERO touchdowns.

We reached out to Chelios for comment -- so far, no word back.

NFL Star Torrey Smith Stellar Game Helped Family Grieve

Published | Updated

Torrey Smith's family is incredibly proud of the way the NFL star played in last night's Ravens vs. Patriots game ... telling TMZ, his performance was the ultimate tribute to his younger brother, who died just hours before Torrey took the field.

We spoke with Torrey's grandmother, Mary Smith, who tells us Torrey called her to let her know he would be playing and dedicating the game to his 19-year-old brother Tevin Jones who passed away in a motorcycle crash early Sunday morning.

Mary tells us Torrey didn't have to call ... she already knew he was going to play -- telling us, "He wanted to get out there and win that game for his brother and the Lord made that happen for him."

Mary says Smith's entire family gathered at her home in Virginia to watch Torrey play -- "I said look at my grandson. He’s gonna win that game. They have to win the game.”

FYI -- Torrey played the game of his life ... scoring 2 TDs in the Ravens' incredible come-from-behind victory.

Mary says the family was very emotional during the game ... crying both tears of joy and sadness.

“[When he scored his first touchdown] it was wonderful" ... "That was for his little brother.”

Torrey is expected to return home sometime today to help the family with funeral arrangements.

'Sunday Night Football' FCC Will NOT Punish NBC for Airing 'Bullsh*t' Chant

Published | Updated

The FCC will not punish NBC for failing to cut the audio of a massive "bullsh*t" stadium chant that made it on the air during last night's Ravens vs. Patriots match up.

As we previously reported, the crowd in Baltimore erupted in a booming BS chant after believing the replacement refs blew another call. The chant went on for several minutes ... and at one point announcer Al Michaels called it the "loudest manure chant" he ever heard.

Now, a rep for the FCC tells us the org. will not go after NBC ... explaining, “There’s never been any penalties imposed for obscenities inadvertently heard over air.”

But if someone flashed a nipple, it would be a whole different ballgame.

'Sunday Night Football' NBC Airs 'Bullsh*t' Chant on Live TV

Published | Updated

NBC may be in hot water with the FCC ... after the network aired a seemingly never-ending, crystal-clear "bullsh*t" chant that erupted in the stadium during the Ravens vs. Patriots game on "Sunday Night Football."

In case you were watching the Emmys last night ... things got pretty insane during last night's prime time NFL matchup ... when the crowd in Baltimore was convinced the replacement refs blew another call and unleashed the most perfectly executed "BS" chant we've ever heard.

Even announcer Al Michaels commented, "It's the loudest manure chant I've ever heard."

The FCC often declines to punish networks when a "fleeting expletive" makes it to air during a live sporting event ... and it's unclear if they're even legally allowed to do so. But since this "BS" chant was so clear and went on for several minutes, it's possible the FCC could drop the hammer on NBC for failing to cut the sound out of the broadcast.

We've reached out to the FCC -- and a rep told us they were "looking into the matter."

A rep for NBC had no comment.

A rep for the Ravens -- Senior Vice President of Public and Community Relations Kevin Byrne -- tells TMZ ... "We’re certainly aware of it. Normally, our crowd is one of the most enthusiastic and respectful home audiences in all of sports.”

Ex-NBA Star Stephon Marbury My Lady's Gonna Be On 'Basketball Wives'

Published | Updated

Hopefully they get VH1 in China ... 'cause ex-NBA'er Stephon Marbury's super hot wife has been tapped to be on the next season of "Basketball Wives."

Sources close to the production tell us ... Tasha Marbury is in final talks to join the show -- a much needed cast replacement after Royce, Jennifer and Kesha were all axed.

We're told producers approached Tasha for two main reasons ... she's actually a basketball wife (she and Stephon married in 2002) ... and secondly she's already friends with some of the other "wives."

Sources tell us, Tasha was previously asked to do season 1 of "BB Wives", except Stephon nixed the idea -- but now he lives in China part time playing for the Beijing Ducks ... and changed his tune.

We're also told producers are still looking to fill a couple more spots. One of which might be Evelyn Lozada's -- considering she has yet to make decision about returning to the show.

Shaun White VODKA KING At Black Keys Wedding

Published | Updated

Shaun White was VODKA MAN at the Black Keys wedding he attended before his public intoxication arrest last weekend -- sources tell TMZ, dude had his very own vodka handle at the party ... and was drinki-ng like a fish.

As we reported, a black-eyed White was arrested early Monday in Nashville following the wedding for Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney -- after allegedly trashing his hotel room, pulling a fire alarm, running from hotel staff ... and smashing his face.

Now, sources at the wedding tell TMZ, there's a good reason White was acting so crazy -- he had been on a vodka binge the entire night, carrying around his own personal vodka bottle, taking multiple shots with anyone game to join him.

One guest told us he saw White drink between 12-15 shots.

As we reported, White has since issued a mea culpa for the incident, saying, "I want to apologize for the unwise choices I made over the weekend and for any inconvenience it caused my family, friends, business partners, the hotel and their guests."

White says, "I was celebrating a happy occasion with a ton of family and friends and got carried away."

You can say that again.

Deion Sanders My Child Support Payments Are TOO DAMN HIGH!

Published | Updated

Deion Sanders is furious that a judge ordered him to pay up over $10,000/month in child support to his estranged wife Pilar ... claiming it's simply not fair.

Sanders just filed docs in Texas Supreme Court challenging the support order that was established in a lower court back in May.

In his docs, Sanders says $10k/month is actually SIX TIMES more than Texas law requires ... and he wants his child support obligation significantly reduced.

But Pilar claims Deion is worth roughly $250 MILLION ... and the TX Supreme Court shouldn't have any sympathy for Prime Time ... or change the support structure that's already in place.

In fact, Pilar has filed her own legal docs outlining why she needs so much cash from Deion. Among the highlights:
-- $2,000/month for a special diet for the kids
-- $900/month on uniforms and shoes for the kids' sports activities
-- $500/ month on the children's cell phones

Pilar also claims she spends $450 on haircuts for her sons and treatments for her daughter's "very thick curly hair."

Style doesn't come cheap.

Pilar's lawyer tells TMZ, "Once again, Mr. Sanders has not followed the Court's direct orders and has attempted to make up his own rules. It is clear that he still thinks he is "above the law."

The court has yet to rule on Deion's request. Stay tuned ...

Derek Boogaard Dead NHL Star's Parents File $9.8 Million Lawsuit

Published | Updated

The parents of former NHL player Derek Boogaard -- who died last year -- have filed a $9.8 million lawsuit against the NHL Player's Association, claiming the org. FAILED to take the proper steps to help them collect the balance on Derek's NHL contract after he passed away.

28-year-old Derek died on May 13, 2011 from a fatal mixture of drugs and alcohol.

In the lawsuit, Derek's parents claim he was addicted to prescription pills at the time of his death ... partly because he had been prescribed "a multitude of narcotics and sleeping pills by both the team doctors, physicians, trainers, and dentists of the New York Rangers and the Minnesota Wild."

Because Derek's parents believe the NHL teams are partly responsible for their son's death, they turned to the NHL PA which promised to help them file a grievance to get the Rangers to pay out the rest of Derek's multi-million dollar 4-year contract with the team.

But, according to the lawsuit, the NHL PA failed to file the grievance by the required deadline, so the Boogaards were unable to collect ... and now the Boogaards are PISSED.

Derek's parents are demanding the NHL PA make things right by shelling out the $4.8 million PLUS $5 million in punitive damages.

A rep for the NHLPA tells TMZ, "We are saddened to read reports that the parents of the late Derek Boogaard have filed a lawsuit against the NHLPA. We have not been served with or seen a copy of the complaint, but we are confident that there is no meritorious claim that can be made against the NHLPA in regard to Derek's tragic death. It is not appropriate to comment further at this time."

Michael Vick's Bro WANTED After Skipping Court Date

Published | Updated

Marcus Vick, the younger brother of NFL superstar Michael Vick, is wanted by Virginia cops for failing to appear in court after he allegedly pulled an Amanda Bynes ... driving on a suspended license.

A Virginia judge issued the arrest warrant for Vick on Friday when he missed his court date for the June 2011 suspended license charge.

Vick spent 10 days in the clink earlier this year for pulling the same disappearing act -- that time it was for a 2010 charge of driving on a suspended license.

Vick's attorney reportedly told the judge that Vick -- a former Virginia Tech star and NFL player -- couldn't make it to court because he's out of work and living in Atlanta.

Calls to Vick's attorney weren't immediately returned.
