Plaxico Burress emerged last night -- making his first public appearance since accidentally shooting himself in the right thigh two weeks ago.

The suspended receiver attended a charity fundraiser at a nightclub last night in NYC, along with his wife and son. Burress didn't discuss his ongoing legal woes, only saying he was only there to support the event.

Burress has been suspended for the rest of the regular season, and faces criminal possession of a weapon charges. He is due back in court March 31, and has pleaded not guilty. He is currently free on $100,000 bail.

Corey Hill -- the UFC fighter whose lower leg was brutally and cleanly broken in a match Wednesday night -- is out of surgery to repair the break, and he's going to be out of commission for up to a year and a half.

Hill's trainer told TMZ last night Corey suffered a compound fracture -- ya think? -- and UFC.com reports he's with his fam at Cape Fear Valley Med Center in NC and in "good spirits" after suffering the horrible injury.

...an autograph.

Hours before he acted like an idiot by shooting himself, Plaxico Burress was acting like an animal in a New York jiggle joint.

Burress went to Head Quarters with teammates Antonio Pierce and Ahmad Bradshaw, and according to the New York Post, gobbled up the staff's dinner, including eating turkey with his hands. He and his guys came in with three girls, with whom they also left.

As it happens, Burress is known there for being "cheap" and "full of himself."

Former NFL rushing champion Corey Dillon is all fired up over a Ferrari deal gone bad -- dude claims he got taken for more than $500,000 by some fast guys with fast cars.

According to a lawsuit filed moments ago in L.A. County Superior Court, Dillon dropped his 2005 Ferrari F430 off at an auto repair shop to get a twin-turbo system added to his whip in May 2007 -- but Dillon claims the guys never told him they weren't officially authorized to work on Ferraris.

Long story short -- Dillon claims he agreed to drop $55,000 in repairs, but while the guys were working on this car, the people who ran the company duped the running back into investing around $470,000 into their business.

After he wrote the check, things got bad -- Dillon claims he was supposed to get his car back 6 months after he dropped it off, but 14 months later, the NFL star claims the work hadn't been done. He had to get a tow truck company to remove the car with the help of cops and take it to another shop.

Four months and $34,400 later, Dillon claims the car was finally drivable. So here's what Corey wants -- a return of all the money he spent to fix the Ferrari, and the return of his $470,000 investment. As for the latter, Corey claims the shop owners blew it on stupid stuff like "fast food, perfume, liquor, groceries and gasoline."

Dude should get a limo -- it's a lot cheaper.

Michael Vick's prison cell may soon be more of a home than his mother has -- and it's all his fault.

Recent bankruptcy docs show Vick can't afford to pay the $4700/month mortgage payments for his mother's Suffolk home -- and he's hired a local realtor in Virginia to try to sell off the property.

To make matters worse, his mom, Brenda Boddie, won't earn her $100K income anymore -- because she works for Michael's company, which now is kaput.

The home is one of several Vick bought when he blew through more than $18 mil over a couple of years.

Our boys at Brahsome.com unearthed a few soaking wet photos of the Jacksonville Jags QB letting out his inner party animal (and a whole lotta perspiration) at a wedding back in July.

Vegas sports agent Perry Rogers, who repped Steffi's husband Andre for years and was childhood pals with him as well, has taken Steffi to court -- the kind without white lines.

According to the suit, Rogers also repped Steffi, helping her pull in $20 mil. In return, he says he got stiffed. Now he's asking for more than $50,000 in commissions.

Plaxico Burress had reason to be worried about having his bling lifted –- but he still never got a legal gun in NY.

Burress had hundreds of thousands of dollars of jewelry lifted from his Florida home back in June 2007, reports the New York Post, and cops arrested burglars when they tried to steal $63K from his Pittsburgh home. Plax got a gun permit in Florida, but it had expired well before last week's self-shooting.

Burress hasn't yet applied for a gun permit in New York or New Jersey.

Sometimes the day you report to jail can be the busiest shopping day of all.

Records now show that Falcons former quarterback Michael Vick blew through a staggering $201,840 on the day he reported to jail on felony dog fighting charges, according to AJC.com.

His "To Do List" that day looked something like this:

The golden rule in the mafia is "never tell the cops anything" -- and now it looks like the NFL has it's own silent code of ethics concerning "the man."

In the wake of football felons such as Michael Vick, and the ongoing Plaxico Burress gun-foolery, word is starting to slip that the NFL doesn't want their stars going to the cops if they get into trouble.

"If the police intervene, don't tell your story," Stefan Fatsis writes in his book, "A Few Seconds of Panic" -- which is blowing the lid off the NFL's culture of silence.

Most teams employ at least one "security guy," and send a clear signal to players to call that go-to guy, even before cops, according to the NY Post.

Seeing as how Plaxico became the seventh Giant to have a run-in with the law this year -- we're wondering how much stuff goes on that we'll never know about.

A law enforcement source says Antonio "almost had a heart attack when the gun went off and he realized what happened," according to the Daily News.

The source says Pierce apparently met with authorities for a full week after the incident, and that Pierce was "Very forthright ... He said he didn't know in advance about the gun."

Meanwhile NYC Mayor Bloomberg isn't impressed with Burress' claims of innocence and stated, "You carry a loaded gun, you go to the slammer for 3-1/2 years." Next week, investigators will talk to Dr. Josyann Abisaab, who failed to report the incident to police after treating Burress.
