Flairwell Coca-Cola

Published | Updated

After a family brawl left former WWE legend Ric Flair with a black eye and his daughter tased by police, wrestling blogs have been laying the Smackdown on TMZ.

Wrestling fans are buzzing that our stories put the kibosh on an endorsement The Nature Boy had with Coke. Whoa Nelly! Flair never had an endorsement with Coke -- at least that's what Flair's peeps say.

Dope Sick Blues for Lance Armstrong

Published | Updated

Testicularly challenged biking god Lance Armstrong could be facing a tough road back to competition.

Strict anti-doping rules dictate that riders coming out of retirement must wait a mandatory six-month dope-free period, which could thwart Lance's plans to compete in Australia in January.

Have no fear, he still has plenty of time to get ready for an unprecedented eighth ass-kicking win of the Tour de France next June.

Tom Brady Gimps Out of Hiding

Published | Updated

Tom Brady came out of hibernation today with his GF Gisele, and the injury that sidelined the NFL star for the season is painfully evident.

Without the use of a crutch, Tom silently limped into Gisele's New York pad -- and although he moved around pretty well on the street, the devastating injury to his left knee clearly made it difficult for him to climb the stairs.

Michael Vick -- Hit for Another Huge Loss

Published | Updated

Imprisoned NFL star Michael Vick is finally generating some cash -- just not for himself.

Vick pulled the ol' "Paris Hilton" by leaving a bunch of his stuff in a storage locker that hadn't been paid for. The contents of the locker, stocked with all sorts of Vick's personal goodies, eventually went on the auction block. Since only five people showed up to the sale, a dude named Edward Howard says he was able to obtain the treasure trove of obscurities for a whopping ten bucks.

Now, Howard says he's already made a few hundred bucks selling off some of Vick's bedroom furniture and clothes on a street corner just a few days ago.

What Howard won't sell are pictures of Vick with his first-born son Mitez, a signed football Mike gave the kid, and other baby memorabilia. Howard says he'd like to meet Vick some day to hand over the stuff personally.

Vick will be in Leavenworth, KS for at least another year, case anyone's looking.

WWE Star -- No Third Strike Called

Published | Updated

Oft-troubled WWE star Jeff Hardy was kicked off an airplane flight earlier this week, but now the WWE says it won't be his third strike.

Hardy was pegged by Southwest Airlines officials Tuesday at the Nashville International Airport as too intoxicated to board the plane. We're told he found a different way out of town.

The once-fired and two-time suspended WWE star has had his share of drug problems and can't afford a third strike -- which would win him a pink slip.

But the whole thing Tuesday was precautionary -- there was no incident and the WWE will turn a blind eye. And there's this -- Hardy is starring in the next WWE pay-per-view event next month, and that will line the org's pockets nicely.

After all the years the Indianapolis Colts sucked and choked, you've got to be pretty pissed at the team to sue them over something that happened when they finally beat Tom Brady and the Patriots in the AFC Championship a couple years back.

But Lou Ann Pieper is doing just that. She alleges in a lawsuit she was watching a game at the RCA Dome last January when she got torched by a hot firework that didn't explode but landed on the back of her neck. Pieper says she suffered first- and second-degree burns, and missed work too.

She doesn't allege any permanent disability from being a Colts fan. The Colts didn't immediately comment.

"MNF" Announcer Calls in Strong Offensive Line

Published | Updated

Last night's "Monday Night Football" game was an offensive showcase -- as in one of the announcers offended the Latino community.

To celebrate Mexican Independence Day, ESPN replayed one of the game's highlights with audio from the Spanish-language broadcast. After the clip, "MNF" announcer Tony Kornheiser commented, "I took high school Spanish and that either means that nobody is going to touch him or 'Could you pick up my dry cleaning in the morning?'"

Two hours later, Kornheiser vehemently apologized for the comment, saying, "It wasn't my first mistake, it undoubtedly won't be my last ... but a 100% apology."
