Steven Jackson: Accusations Are 'Hurtful, Untrue'

Published | Updated

NFL star Steven Jackson is denying the allegations made by his ex-girlfriend that he beat her back in 2009 while she was 9 months pregnant with their son.

The St. Louis Rams running back just released a statement to TMZ saying, "It's disheartening that I have to address any alleged allegations 10 months later, but I have read the accusations made by Supriya Harris, and they are untrue."

Jackson continued, "The accusations are especially hurtful because those who truly know me know that those actions would be out of character for me."

Jackson acknowledged that Harris is the mother of his son, and described the boy as "a son that I love and that I willingly support emotionally and financially."

He concluded, "I will address this matter thoroughly through the appropriate avenues, but not through the media."

UPDATE:
Harris just released a statement to BlackSportsOnline saying, "Domestic violence is never acceptable and I stood up, against all odds and spoke up. I would not wish this on my worst enemy, so you can say 'I'm a woman scorned' but I left Steven because if his abusive nature and the truth cannot be denied."

Harris claims she didn't file the statement for financial gain saying, "I simply gave my statement to police. There is no monetary gain in that action.

She added, "I hope that Steven addresses this issue and gets the necessary help so that our son doesn't adopt this behavioral problem. Violence against women is never ok and to have it happen, at that time, right before I was due to give birth was very disturbing for me."

NFL Star Accused of Beating Pregnant Girlfriend

Published | Updated

Steven Jackson -- the starting running back for the St. Louis Rams -- has been accused of one of the most vile crimes imaginable ... beating up his girlfriend while she was nine months pregnant with his child.

Jackson's then-girlfriend Supriya Harris claims the NFL star got physical during an "argument" in March 2009 ... this according to a complaint filed with the Las Vegas Police Department.

In her complaint, Harris says, "Steven became enraged and pushed me to the ground, repeatedly."

Harris also claims Jackson, "forcibly grabbed my arm and flung me against the door. I was crying and trying to protect my stomach from the blows, as I was 9 mos pregnant."

In the complaint, Harris claims Jackson "continued to shove me against the door until his nephew ... interceded and yelled, 'uncle, she has a baby, stop.'"

Harris claims she was "bleeding heavily" from wounds she received after she was smashed into a door handle.

Harris says Jackson took her to a nearby hospital -- but instructed her to lie and tell doctors that she was injured from a fall in the shower.

Ten days after the alleged incident, Harris gave birth to their son. According to the complaint, Harris claims she left Steven 4 months later -- after he threatened to beat her up again at a music festival in New Orleans.

Jackson and Harris have been arguing over child support payments -- and recently Harris had filed documents with the court begging the judge to force Steven to pay up. That case is still pending.

We talked to Jackson's rep -- but we're still waiting for comment. Harris declined to comment on the matter.

UPDATE: St. Louis Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo just released the following statement: "We are aware of the situation involving Steven Jackson. We are in the process of gathering information. We are always concerned with issues involving our players."

WWE Wrestler Accused of Smacking a Woman

Published | Updated

WWE wrestler Greg "Hurricane" Helms allegedly smacked several people -- including a woman -- before he and Chris Jericho were arrested at a Kentucky gas station yesterday, law enforcement sources tell TMZ.

We're told several people were in a taxi cab with Helms and Jericho when things allegedly got violent around 4 AM yesterday.

Cops say they spoke to several members of the group who told them Helms struck three people -- including Jericho, a man named Gary Kelley and a female passenger named Ashley Storer.

Witnesses told cops Helms ran from the scene right after the violent incident but returned to the gas station soon after, where he -- along with Jericho -- was arrested for being drunk in public.

Cops say Helms was not arrested for the alleged attack because the alleged victims have not pressed charges -- a requirement for an arrest in Kentucky if the police do not witness the attack.

Ashley told cops she did not want to file charges against Helms -- but Kelley told police he's mulling it over and may go after the wrestler.

Tila Tequila Drops the Ball in Lawsuit w/ NFL Star

Published | Updated

Tila Tequila just lost the first round in a ferocious legal battle with her ex-boyfriend Shawne Merriman -- and all because she's refusing to play defense.

It's all over a $2 million lawsuit filed by Merriman back in December, in which the San Diego Chargers star claims Tila made a series of horrific -- and untrue -- statements about him in an attempt to ruin his career.

Tila never officially responded to Merriman's suit -- so the court has entered a default judgment against her.

But the decision doesn't mean Tila has to fork over the money just yet -- she will probably move to set aside the default and duke it out in court.
