Falcons to Vick: Get Your Sh*t Together!
Statement from Atlanta Falcons Owner Arthur Blank Regarding Michael Vick's Plea Agreement and Indefinite Suspension:
"Today, Michael Vick admitted his guilt to very serious charges related to his earlier indictment. His admissions describe actions that are incomprehensible and unacceptable for a member of the National Football League and the Atlanta Falcons."
"We respect and support the Commissioner's decision today to place Michael Vick on an indefinite suspension. As with other actions he has taken this year, the Commissioner is making a strong statement that conduct which tarnishes the good reputation of the NFL will not be tolerated."
"We hope that Michael will use this time, not only to further address his legal matters, but to take positive steps to improve his personal life."
NFL Suspends Vick
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell notified Michael Vick today that he is indefinitely suspended without pay from the National Football League, effective immediately.
Following are excerpts from Commissioner Goodell's letter Vick:
Your admitted conduct was not only illegal, but also cruel and reprehensible. Your team, the NFL, and NFL fans have all been hurt by your actions.
Your plea agreement and the plea agreements of your co-defendants also demonstrate your significant involvement in illegal gambling. Even if you personally did not place bets, as you contend, your actions in funding the betting and your association with illegal gambling both violate the terms of your NFL Player Contract and expose you to corrupting influences in derogation of one of the most fundamental responsibilities of an NFL player. You have engaged in conduct detrimental to the welfare of the NFL and have violated the league's Personal Conduct Policy.
I will review the status of your suspension following the conclusion of the legal proceedings. As part of that review, I will take into account a number of factors, including the resolution of any other charges that may be brought against you, whether in Surry County, Virginia, or other jurisdictions, your conduct going forward, the specifics of the sentence imposed by Judge Hudson and any related findings he might make, and the extent to which you are truthful and cooperative with law enforcement and league staff who are investigating these matters.
I have advised the Falcons that, with my decision today, they are no longer prohibited from acting and are now free to assert any claims or remedies available to them under the Collective Bargaining Agreement or your NFL Player Contract.
Vick: I Was Part of a Group That Killed Dogs
TMZ has obtained the plea agreement in the Michael Vick case. In it, Vick "admits the facts set forth in the statement of facts."
A portion of the summary of facts reads "Vick agreed to the killing of approximately 6-8 dogs that did not perform well in testing sessions ..." It continues, "All of those dogs were killed by various methods, including hanging and drowning."
The plea agreement reads, "the defendant agrees to forfeit all interests in any and all dogs involved (in) an animal fighting venture that the defendant owns or over which the defendant exercises control ... including but not limited to the approximately 54 pit bulldogs recovered from the residence ... "
The agreement also states that Vick will plead guilty to charges of conspiracy and sponsoring a dog in an animal fighting venture. He's also admitted to providing funding for dog food, medicine and purse fees for dog fighting competitions.
Vick could face up to 5 years in prison along with a substantial fine.

Bill Murray: Marinated Swedish Meatball?
Cinderella story. Outta nowhere ... Bill Murray could face a drunk driving charge ... in Sweden! Skal! Police spotted Murray cruising around downtown Stockholm in a -- wait for it -- golf cart!
Swedish cops say they stopped the 56-year-old Murray in the slow-moving vehicle and noticed the smell of alcohol on his breath. "He refused to blow in the (breath test) instrument, citing American legislation," the police told the AP. "So we applied the old method -- a blood test. It will take 14 days before the results are in." In the meantime, enjoy the lutefisk!
Murray, who had been at a golf tournament in Sweden, signed a document admitting that he was driving under the influence, and agreed to let a police officer plead guilty for him if the case goes to court (Yes judge, right away judge!).
Hmm ... we thought that in Sweden you weren't legally drunk until your eyes rolled to the back of your head. Who knew?
A rep for Murray did not immediately return a call for comment.
K-Fed Throws Gang Signs
Kevin Federline kicked it with some legit playahs -- NBA playahs that is -- in Las Vegas over the weekend.
Vegas' main lensman Hew Burney snapped this pic of Father of the Year K-Fed and Carmelo Anthony, chillin' poolside at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.
Someone needs to tell K-Fed that Westside Connection is no longer together, and the '90s East vs. West rap wars are over. Also, is that a Warner Bros. tat on Mr. Anthony's shoulder? He's got TMZ's back, for sure!
Michael Vick to Judge: I'm Guilty As Charged
Michael Vick just plea bargained his dogfighting criminal case.
A federal grand jury was scheduled to hear testimony today. His co-defendants have already struck deals and turned on the NFL star.
We're told Vick has pleaded guilty to some charges. We're investigating.
According to one report, Vick will likely get a prison sentence -- we don't know the duration.
The report claims that next Monday, Vick will enter a guilty plea to charges of felony conspiracy. Vick's lawyer is quoted as saying, "Mike's accepting full responsibility. He's going to do everything he can personally and professionally to make this situation right."
UPDATE: The NFL has issued the following statement: "We are aware of Michael Vick's decision to enter a guilty plea to the federal charges against him and accept responsibility for his conduct. We totally condemn the conduct outlined in the charges, which is inconsistent with what Michael Vick previously told both our office and the Falcons. We will conclude our own review under the league's personal conduct policy as soon as possible. In the meantime, we have asked the Falcons to continue to refrain from taking action pending a decision by the commissioner."
Wife Won't Stray from Alex
Is there a more obviously affectionate couple than Alex Rodriguez and wife Cynthia?
TMZ cameras caught A-Rod and his wife heading into the Justin Timberlake concert in NYC last night -- and while most married men would have a divorce lawyer on speed dial after numerous allegations of infidelity, it's clearly not enough to make Rodriguez's wife head for the hills ... for now. Still, the pair weren't exactly ... lovey-dovey.
With his $252 million contract (and a guilty conscience?), Rodriguez better have gotten some good seats!

Pac Man -- The Next Hulk Hogan?!
Suspended NFL player Adam "Pac Man" Jones -- yeah, the guy who allegedly "made it rain" on strippers before a shootout in a Vegas strip club -- may soon be wrestling with more than just felony charges. Sources close to the star tell TMZ that Pac is just about set to go from the gridiron to the wrestling ring. Intercepted!
The troubled Tennessee Titans cornerback is currently facing felony charges related to a trigger-happy melee at a Vegas strip club in February. The hot-headed Jones is also accused of punching a stripper at the club while she was trying to grab some dough off the stage. Maybe he already knows how to pack a punch! TMZ has confirmed he's on his way to Nashville-based TNA, also known as Total Non-Stop Action Wrestling. A source connected with the deal says an official announcement will be made soon. Can ya wait?

Matt Leinart -- 'Acting' Like a Good Dad Should?
NFL stud Matt Leinart has scored himself another high profile job -- but TMZ has learned the pretty boy QB is busting his ass to make sure his new Hollywood gig doesn't interfere with his daddy duties.
A spy on the L.A. set of a new Adam Sandler project has confirmed that Leinart landed an acting role in the untitled flick, featuring "Scary Movie" star Anna Faris. While sources claim Leinart is serious about the part, we're told that he's only shooting on days he's not scheduled to visit his 9-month-old son with baby mama Brynn Cameron, and when he's free from any football obligations with the Arizona Cardinals. But according to Brynn, Leinart's "Hollywood stuff" is taking his focus away from being a good parent, as she complained to the Ventura County Star, "It's kind of hard for me as the mom ... he comes and goes whenever he wants."
When contacted by TMZ, Leinart's rep wouldn't talk about the movie, but assured the Cardinal faithful that "Matt is focused right now on his way to training camp. He has a job to do with the Arizona Cardinals. That's all we have to say about that."
As TMZ first reported, Leinart is embroiled in a nasty legal battle with his Cameron, who is asking for more than $30K a month in child support from the $50 million-contract jock.
