Jay-Z No Charge for My Verses … But I Do Tell Artists 'No' A LOT!!!

Published | Updated

Kevin Hart is coming in hot with guests for Season 2 of “Heart To Hart” ... 'cause he's got Jay-Z opening up about milestone moments in his legendary career, and what it takes to get a guest verse outta him these days.

Following up on his Pete Davidson convo, Kev chatted with Jay about his 2003 rap retirement which ended with the “Kingdom Come” album, and its “Lost Ones” track that made him and his best friend Ty Ty face the nature of death.

Hov admitted he’s been downshifting musically since releasing his last album in 2017, but still does his share of blockbuster guest features along the way ... like he did for Pusha Ts Neck & Wrist” and DJ Khaled’s “I Got The Keys.”

Despite being rap’s first billionaire, Hov says he never charges for verses, nor chases down artists to be a part of their project, because that wouldn’t be very 🐐-like, now would it?

He also revealed he declines more requests than he approves, usually due to timing, scheduling or just not liking the track altogether.

Although Jay didn’t name names, we know 2 Chainz felt that defeat when prepping his 2020 album “So Help Me God." Tity Boi didn't get a response for a song tailor-made for Hov and gave up on being part of Jay's discography altogether.

Sometimes you have to break a few eggs to make a billion-dollar omelet!

In the docs, Erica asked for primary custody of their 1-year-old daughter, child support and use of the home on her own.

Douglas Parson Jr. held the listing.

Boosie Badazz Wishes Death On FB, IG Heads ... For Banning Latest Account

Published

Boosie Badazz says Twitter is the only social media platform he has left ... and he's using it to fire off a series of hate-filled messages to the FB and IG honchos he blames for banning him.

In the rants, which continued Friday after an initial wave on Thursday, Boosie IDs Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg and Instagram's Adam Mosseri for shutting down his @americasmostwantedig handle -- and he drags their families into it too, while spewing some pretty foul things.

He went so far as to wish they died in a helicopter crash, instead of Kobe Bryant.

Boosie thinks body cam video in Georgia prompted IG's latest deletion of his account, and he's vowing to get revenge by starting a new Instagram account.

As of the time we posted, his 62 followers don't exactly represent the rallying cry he's hoping for, but maybe the weekend will bring in more support?

TMZ broke the story ... Boosie's been fuming since he was handcuffed earlier this week in Georgia during a traffic stop where he was the passenger.

While in cuffs, he ranted the cops were targeting him. The cops say they weren't rapper profiling, just following protocol.

Boosie doesn't seem to be buying what the cops or Zuckerberg are selling.

NBA YoungBoy Not Guilty In Federal Gun Case

Published | Updated
UPDATE

1:07 PM PT -- A spokesperson for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Los Angeles tells TMZ, "We believe the evidence presented in this case supported the charges brought by the grand jury. While we are disappointed with the verdict, we respect the jury’s decision."

UPDATE

11:28 AM PT -- YoungBoy's attorney, Andre Belanger, tells TMZ the rapper put his head down and started to cry when the verdict was read ... it's been a stressful and emotional situation for him. In walking out of the courtroom, Belanger tells us YB exclaimed, "I was never guilty of this."

NBA YoungBoy has just been found not guilty in his federal gun case.

The verdict, confirmed by both NBA's lawyer Andre Belanger and the U.S. Attorney's Office comes after a 3-day trial ... the jury found him not guilty of a charge of illegal firearms possession over a loaded handgun found in his car last year.

As we reported, LAPD and the feds attempted to pull over a vehicle the rapper was in last March on an outstanding federal warrant.

SEARCHING FOR YOUNGBOY

The guy apparently didn't give up easily -- a short pursuit went down, but once the car stopped, cops said the rapper bolted on foot. Police set up a perimeter and brought in a K-9 to help find YoungBoy. The gun in question was found in his vehicle.

He was released on a $500K bond from federal prison back in October, but the judge ordered him to sit in home confinement in Utah until his trial date.

Support was shown for the rapper leading up to his sentencing -- a swarm of fans surrounded the court entrance in L.A. Friday as they awaited the verdict. Floyd Mayweather also showed up to court this week.

Remy Ma There's Only 5 Dope Female Rappers ... And Rapsody's 1 of 'Em, So There!!!

Published

DJ Premier dropped his "Hip Hop 50 Vol. 1" compilation packed with a handful of his favorite rappers on Friday ... setting the stage for Remy Ma to lay waste to basically all her peers!

Mrs. Terror Squadian opened her “Remy Rap” collaboration with Rapsody with both guns a-blazin' … while proclaiming there are only “5 dope female rappers” out.

She also ripped the bulk of female rap artists for hiding behind social media-driven sex appeal for spins.

Rapsody also added testosterone to the track, comparing her rap skills to holding the weight of the world in her pants while giving out gag reflexes.

Assuming Remy counts herself and Rapsody … that would only leave 3 remaining spots on the dope list. Who else could she mean?! 🔍🤔

Remy, being the versatile and veteran battle rapper she is, recently specified how she thinks rappers who just recite their lyrics are closer to karaoke stars or comedians than actual MCs. Damn!

Premo's 'Hip Hop 50' also features contributions from Lil Wayne, Nas, Joey Bada$$, Killer Mike and El-P waving the Run The Jewels flag ... but it seems to be Remy's world and they're just living in it.

T.I. ‘Trap Muzik’ Is Kid’s Stuff Now ... And I’m Quite Grown

Published

T.I. has long been credited as a creator of trap music (his 2003 album is named after it), but now he says he's disavowing the thoughts and ideologies of his past occupations.

While speaking with Bill Bellamy for the opening of his "Top Billin’" podcast, T.I. revealed how his approach to making music had matured over the years and admits his music was written when he was 20, sounds like it was written by a 20-year-old!

Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.

Tip even joked -- he's a comedian after all -- about rising up in the ranks in street hustling … but no longer being able to brag about it on the résumé.

He said, "I get it … I respect it! Now, for me to go out here and continue to force those skills on the marketplace when I know I have no real stage to present these skills on, it's counterproductive."

The Atlanta rap legend first burst onto the scene at the top of 2000 with pure trap classic records such as “24” and “Be Easy,” but says adjustments had to be made.

His son Domani Harris, who is also a rapper, also pushes him in the direction of non-trap-raps.

T.I.'s last album, 2020’s "The L.I.B.R.A.," saw him playing with the balance of moving away from the trap, but the comedic stage -- where he's gotten cheers and boos -- has been his go-to outlet lately.

When we last spoke to the Trouble Man in April, he said he was taking his lumps on the laugh circuit in stride and learning to be a better performer.

Bun also shed light on the current state of hip hop amid all this money talk ... explaining how his time building a legacy with the late Pimp C happened in a completely different world.

According to the younger generation in Bun's ears, NBA YoungBoy is the new Tupac, and today's music conveys much of the same feelings toward the government as N.W.A and UGK did for past generations.

Rock The Bells '22 is coming up with performances from LL, Ice Cube, Rick Ross, Dipset, Fat Joe & Remy Ma, Jadakiss, and a newly added Busta Rhymes.

Latto New Rap Snaps on Roe v. Wade Decision ... My 'P***Y,' My Power!!!

Published | Updated

Latto is using her buzzing platform to make a political statement against the Supreme Court overturning of Roe v. Wade with a simple and direct title diss track ... "P***Y."

There's nothing subtle about Latto's lyrical ripping of SCOTUS, starting with her song's exotic artwork. Yeah, that seems to be pink hot lava spewing from ... well, you get it.

Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.

The music video uses images from some of the protests that have broken out across the country since the landmark decision ... and it also features Latto surrounded by lots and lots of cats as she raps to lawmakers -- "How you ain't got a p***y, but got opinions on p***y?/ That's p***y/ My ovaries ain't for you to bully!"

During the initial promo run earlier in the week, Latto fended off fans angry she was using Roe v. Wade to further her career.

Apparently, a rapper speaking on social justice issues is still a wild concept for some people.

The song also samples the late R&B pioneer Betty Wright as they scold "little boys" for making grown-women decisions.

Latto's been spitting with "Big Energy" all year ... with that particular hit song -- her biggest to date -- helping her win Best New Artist at last month's BET Awards.

Check out the "P***Y" video above. If you're at work, headphones are a must!!!

Nick Cannon Wants You to Think He's Engaged ... Probably Just 'I Do' Music Video

Published | Updated

Nick Cannon's sending shockwaves through social media feeds, appearing to propose to one of his lady friends ... just days after he openly yearned for his ex-wife Mariah Carey.

This hugged-up pic with someone who looks a little like Bre Tiesi -- although, we're told it's not her -- included the caption, "I said I would never do it again but…Finally doing what the world wants me to do…"

His post also had a shot of a massive diamond ring.

The post threw Lil Jon and even Nick's former publicist for a loop in the comments section ... especially since Nick recently admitted all his baby mothers don't always see eye to eye.

Of course, Nick being the ultimate hustler of promotion, is more likely simply setting the stage for his "I Do" single rollout, which features Chris Brown.

Released in May as part of his latest album "The Explicit Tape: Raw & B," the song opens up virtually the same way with Nick admitting his dreams of marriage haven't completely faded and Breezy crooning heavy in the melody.

Sooo ... congrats, Nick!!! On the single.

BOOSIE BADAZZ Cops Say They Didn't Target Him ... Handcuffing Was Officer Safety Issue

Published | Updated

Boosie Badazz claims the car he was riding in got pulled over and cuffed because he's famous ... but cops in Georgia say the traffic stop wasn't a case of the hip hop police hard at work.

Here's the deal -- Boosie was riding shotgun in a black Cadillac SUV when police pulled the car over for heavy window tint and concealed tags. During the traffic stop, officers handcuffed the rapper ... which sent Boosie on a wide-ranging rant against police, at one point saying he was being targeted because he's a celeb.

Fairburn Police Department Deputy Chief Anthony Bazydlo tells TMZ ... the officer who slapped the cuffs on Boosie says it was for officer safety.

CAUSING A SCENE

We're told police were planning to search the car, claiming they smelled marijuana, and the chief says it's common for folks to be cuffed when cops are searching a car.

As for Boosie's claims he was being targeted because of his celebrity, Bazydlo says that's not the case ... telling us the car's temporary license plate, which was allegedly obstructed and couldn't be checked, was the main reason for the stop.

We're also told the officer involved in the stop claims Boosie's criminal history did not play a role in him being cuffed.

As we first reported, cops say their search turned up a large bag of cash and a bag of weed ... and when the driver, 19-year-old De’Shun Lawrence claimed ownership of the pot, he was cited and then he and Boosie were released.

Ray J Slams Haters After Getting Brandy Tat ... It's My Leg, My Sister!!!

Published

Not everyone is here for Ray J's newest leg tattoo ... a homage to his sister, Brandy, but he's got quite a few words for all those haters.

We caught Ray at LAX Thursday and he proudly told us all about his fresh ink, while also delivering a message to the people sounding off, largely in disapproval, of the piece.

The "Sexy Can I" singer told us ... he got the tattoo of Brandy to show his love and appreciation for her. Ray J says, without her he wouldn't be who he is today.

And, he clearly wasn't phased by the standard social media shots, some of which -- hilariously -- came from Brandy!

Ray says she was a bit uneasy about the style of the tat -- which depicts Brandy with blood-red eyes and the words "Best friends 4 ever" on her face -- but he likes it and that's all that matters to him.

In fact, he doubles down saying anybody who doesn't approve is trippin'. In simpler terms ... "It's my leg, and my sister".

Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.

When Ray posted the image of his tattoo, he called it the "holy leg" and said it was "real gothic-like." For anyone asking, he says that's just the artist's style.

Jack Harlow
"WHO'S RAY J'S SISTER?"

Of course, this comes a few months after Jack Harlow admitted he didn't know Ray J and Brandy were siblings, which stunned lots of folks on social media ... given that Brandy helped Ray J start his career.

Well, now Ray is making it clear and giving his sister her flowers. Stay tuned, he says there will be more where this came from ...

SpotemGottem ‘Beatbox’ Rapper Charged For Blown Jet Ski Getaway

Published

‘Beatbox’ rapper SpotemGottem is officially facing criminal charges now for what cops viewed as his attempt to jet ski his way to freedom in Florida a couple weeks ago.

Florida's State Attorney just charged the 20-year-old rapper with felony attempting to elude a law enforcement officer in a boat, and misdemeanor reckless operation of a vessel.

This marks young Spotem's 2nd high-profile arrest in his short career ... which, so far, is highlighted by the remix of his smash "Beat Box" hit with DaBaby, Pooh Shiesty and NLE Choppa.

In July 2021, he was arrested on gun charges in Florida for allegedly chilling with an AK-47.

He was also the victim last September of a drive-by shooting where he was struck multiple times.

Kanye West Production Co. Sues ... You Screwed Us Out of $7M!!!

Published | Updated

Kanye West and his team continued to string a production company along with unfulfilled promises of payment, which eventually swelled up to more than $7 million ... according to the company, which is now suing Ye.

According to the lawsuit, obtained by TMZ, Phantom Labs says they worked on multiple large-scale projects with Kanye between June 2021 to March 2022. Among the ventures were 4 weeks of Sunday Service, a listening event for "Donda 2," the "Free Larry Hoover" show with Drake and his canceled 2022 Coachella performance.

HITTIN' THE STAGE TOGETHER

Phantom, repped by attorney Howard King, says at first, Ye and team were good about making payments -- but it wasn't long before bills started to pile up -- and by February 2022, they say they were owed over $6 million.

The docs say Ye had allegedly promised to settle his debt with Phantom, using the reported $9 million he was supposed to make at Coachella, but when he unexpectedly canceled on the festival, Phantom says it became clear, Ye wasn't going to pay.

Phantom says in addition to the $6 million tab Ye already had with the company, they were hit with another $1.1 million in Coachella-related cancelation fees they also want Ye to cover.

TMZ broke the story, Kanye backed out of Coachella less than 2 weeks before the festival kicked off. While the reason behind his cancelation still isn't totally known, he made the decision after a rough few months which saw him lash out against Kim Kardashian.

The Weeknd and Swedish House Mafia eventually filled Kanye's headlining spot, and got a ton of praise for an incredible performance.

As for Phantom, they're suing for breach of contract, among other things, and want Ye to fork over the $7.1 million they say they're owed, plus more.

Iggy Azalea Claps Tasha K Over Jabs at Her Child ... But Is She Dating Tory Lanez? 👀

Published

Iggy Azalea’s social media activity found its way into the crosshairs of infamous Cardi B debtor, Tasha K, and somewhere in the middle … lies Tory Lanez.

Blogger Tasha K -- who owes Cardi B $4M from her defamation suit and isn’t allowed to speak Barti’s name -- went in on Iggy Iggz's personal life as rumors swirl that Tory's dating the Australian-born rapper.

Iggy and Tory were indeed spotted out in public in June with no additional context to their meeting. They could’ve been discussing music for all we know!

The dating rumors were fueled even more Wednesday when Iggy cooked up a batch of oxtail … and Tory went outta his way to let the world know the food was bomb.

Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.

Enter Tasha K ... who went live and insinuated Iggy allowed Tory to get fed before her 2-year-old son Onyx, and needs government assistance to pay for child care. Remember, Onyx's dad is Playboi Carti.

Well, Iggy stepped up and threatened to sic her legal team on Tasha K -- a move that could easily put the blogger deeper in the hole if she blows another case.

A judge recently forced Tasha to scrub all her old posts mentioning Cardi, and there's still that $4 mil tab.

Maybe Tasha might wanna cease and desist covering hip hop for good? It’s getting expensive!!

Styles P I'm Pissed, But My Approach Could've Been Better When Cops Tackled Woman

Published

ACTUALLY SERVE THE COMMUNITY

LOX rapper Styles P thinks he should've handled things differently when cops took down a woman outside his Yonkers, NY business -- but he adds, some cops in the neighborhood are more about control than protection.

The artist and community leader joined us Thursday on "TMZ Live" and said the violent arrest this week makes it clear the vibe isn't great between citizens and officers -- and he's especially upset the 2 male cops got so rough with a woman.

Styles offered up a self-reflective question about the woman's race too, and how that might have played a factor in how she was arrested.

As for his approach in intervening, getting right in one cop's face -- he thinks there were better ways he could've handled himself, and really wants young people to get that message.

Still, he isn't discounting the impact PTSD -- from being a Black man in America -- influenced his response.

As we reported, Styles jumped in the middle of the heated arrest Tuesday outside Juice For Life ... the juice bar he owns with Jadakiss.

His take away from the incident -- yes, police have to arrest people who break the law, but they should use the same force regardless of the suspect's race.

LL Cool J Shows Off $1 Mil A Week Yacht ... Thanks Big Bro, Magic!!!

Published | Updated

LL Cool J just gave us a tour of the $1 million-plus per week yacht he and Magic Johnson -- along with a slew of other celebs like Samuel L. Jackson -- have been living their best life on ... and, as expected, it's incredible!!

The hip-hop legend joined the 62-year-old Lakers legend and wife, Cookie, aboard a $150K a day, 279 ft. luxury yacht for Magic's annual summer vacay ... which dates back to at least 2017.

Sure, there are photos of the yacht ... but up until now, you could really only imagine how the famous guests were living aboard the lavish yacht.

LL starts the tour by showing his room, the master suite, and the incredible view they have from one of the decks on the boat - with a jacuzzi nearby, of course.

"Our home away from home for the last 2 weeks..Thank you to my Big bro @magicjohnson and @thecookiej we appreciate you.. and to Sam, Latanya, Rich, Tina, Vicky, and John, much love!! GOOD VIBES!!!" LL wrote on Instagram.

LL takes us through multiple floors, showcasing a massive lounge/formal dining area, gym, and a massage/spa area.

The best part ... the gym leads to an outdoor pool, and as you can see in the video, the view is breathtaking.

The actor and musician was extremely thankful to Magic and Cookie -- their longtime friends -- for once again inviting him on the trip ... and, well, we can't blame him!
