Team USA manager Mark DeRosa is walking back a costly comment after mistakenly saying the Americans had already clinched a spot in the next round -- hours before a stunning 8-6 loss to Italy put the squad’s World Baseball Classic hopes in serious jeopardy.

DeRosa made the remark during an appearance Tuesday morning on MLB Network's "Hot Stove," where he suggested the U.S. had already punched its ticket to the quarterfinals. He even hinted the game against Italy would be used to give some regulars a breather.

But the math wasn’t right.

When asked if the PDA was "fun," she "blushed" and answered ... "Of course."

Shia LaBeouf reportedly just got cleared to fly to Rome for his father's baptism -- after a Louisiana judge originally denied his plea following his battery arrest.

According to newly filed court docs, a new judge has approved the actor's request to leave New Orleans. And per The Guardian, his weeklong trip to Rome to watch his father, Jeff, get baptized is now back on the table as a result.

Shia originally asked to head to Italy's capital from March 1 to March 8, but the judge wasn't moved by any sort of higher power and ordered him to stay put and seek substance abuse treatment. However, his lawyer Sarah Chervinsky filed another request in the same courthouse on March 4 ... and magistrate Peter Hamilton was happier to work with Shia's needs.

Jenelle Evans is preparing to visit her son, Jace, at the mental health facility where he's currently receiving treatment, but the trip hasn't happened just yet ... TMZ has learned.

Sources familiar with the situation tell TMZ ... Jenelle has not visited Jace in person since he entered the facility. However, she's planning a trip to the Carolinas for spring break with all of her children and intends to see Jace while she's there.

We're told Jenelle, who lives in Las Vegas, has been staying in close contact with Jace. Meanwhile, her mom, Barbara Evans -- who Jace has been living with -- has been visiting him regularly at the facility.

Misty Copeland is pushing back on Timothée Chalamet's controversial comments that "no one cares about” ballet and opera ... saying the centuries-old art forms paved the way for actors like him.

The famed ballerina addressed the actor's remarks during a recent panel discussion ... acknowledging opera and ballet aren't part of pop culture in the same way movies are -- but adding that "doesn't mean it doesn't have enduring relevance in culture."

Copeland says it's "often mistaken when something is popular that it's meaningful or more impactful," pointing out that opera and ballet have been around for more than 400 years.

U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi was quietly moved to a Washington D.C. military base after receiving threats from drug cartels and people pissed about her handling of the Jeffrey Epstein case, according to the New York Times.

Bondi was relocated from her regular D.C. residence within the past month after federal law enforcement alerted her staff about the threats, the paper reported, citing sources familiar with the situation. 

The NYT says Bondi saw an uptick in the threats after the arrest and capture of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro by U.S Delta Forces in January.

Gavin Newsom is having some fun at the expense of Pete Hegseth, slamming the Department of War Secretary for going on a $93 billion taxpayer-funded spending spree to buy pricey steaks, lobsters and crabs.

The California Governor, and likely 2028 Democratic presidential candidate, ripped Hegseth for his lavish spending habits during the last month of the fiscal year in September 2025, according to government watchdog Open the Books. The watchdog highlighted that Hegseth's bulk purchases were the largest of any federal agency since 2008.

As a result, Newsom's press office took a monster-size shot at Hegseth, writing in all caps on X Tuesday, “HEGSETH BLOWING $93 BILLION OF TAXPAYER DOLLARS IN 1 MONTH !!”

According to court docs obtained by TMZ, the former couple’s company, Burruss Tucker Restaurant Group, settled claims over the lease and agreed to pay the landlord $140,509.10 for rent and remediation costs for their restaurant, Blaze Steak & Seafood.

Kandi and Todd’s business had been battling the landlord in court for over a year. The landlord initially claimed Burruss Tucker owed over $200k in back rent and repairs.

Dylan Dreyer is giving a small update on her embattled "Today" co-host, Savannah Guthrie, as the search continues for Savannah’s mom, Nancy -- telling TMZ she does believe she'll likely return to the show at some point.

We caught Dylan leaving NBC Tuesday afternoon, and she said while she thinks Savannah will come back, the timing is totally unclear -- adding everyone at the show is simply giving her the space she needs because they care about her so much.

Dylan also reflected on Savannah’s emotional visit to the "TODAY" studio last Thursday, saying the hug they shared was something they both really needed in that moment.

"90 Day Fiance's" Angela Deem and Michael Ilesanmi hashed out a divorce deal that covered issues like support and the division of property, including their car collection ... TMZ has learned.

Per the settlement, obtained by TMZ, the exes do not own any real property. Angela and Michael will retain possession and use of any cars titled in their respective names.

Angela and Michael will also be responsible for any debts in their name, according to court docs.

Ivanna Lisette Ortiz appeared in court for the first time since being arrested and charged in connection with the shooting at Rihanna's home.

Ortiz showed up wearing a blue jumpsuit and her hair was in braids.

Ortiz's Tuesday court appearance comes after being charged with attempted murder and assault ... her lawyer entered a plea and then withdrew it. Her next court appearance is March 25.

The Florida woman is still in custody and bail has been set at $1.8 million. Ortiz waived her right to a speedy trial and the judge issued protective orders for Rihanna and A$AP Rocky. Ortiz has also been ordered to surrender her guns.

As we reported ... Ortiz, 35, is accused of firing off multiple rounds into the Grammy winner's home while she was inside with her three children ... even hitting an Airstream trailer. Following the shooting, police trailed Ortiz's white Tesla Model 3 into a shopping center parking lot, where they arrested her.

She was later held on a $10,225,000 bail.

4:19 PM PT -- Luka Doncic is no longer engaged to Anamaria Goltes, the Lakers' superstar told ESPN on Tuesday.

"I love my daughters more than anything and I've been doing everything I can for them to be with me in the U.S. during the season, but that hasn't been possible, so I recently made the tough decision to end my engagement," Doncic said.

"Everything I do is for my daughters' happiness and I will always fight to be with them and give them the best life I can."

Doncic added he had no idea of Goltes' filing.

The report went on to say Doncic expressed his desire to bring their newborn to the States back in December ... and a disagreement led Goltes to call police, although officials did not detect a criminal offense.

Luka Doncic's partner, Anamaria Goltes, just filed a petition for child support of their two minor children ... this according to documents obtained by TMZ Sports.

The petition states Anamaria moved back to Slovenia in May of last year ... and their kids have remained with her ever since -- including their youngest, who was born in December 2025.

The petition does not seek custody orders -- only child support and attorney fees.
