New York City was abuzz Sunday night with the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Samuel L. Jackson, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Joe Biden and his wife Jill ... all of whom attended the "Othello" opening at the Barrymore Theatre in Midtown Manhattan.

Other VIPs included Colman Domingo, Anna Wintour, Kandi Burruss, Gayle King, Kenan Thompson, Rosie Perez, Nicole Scherzinger, Angela Bassett, and Nia Long.

Rick Pitino made the trip to Cleveland to be a supportive papa for his son Richard's matchup in the NCAA tournament ... but a heartwarming moment was derailed by someone else in the crowd.

Larry Tamblyn -- a founding member of the influential band The Standells and brother to actor Russ Tamblyn -- has died ... according to a social media post by a family member.

Dennis Tamblyn -- Larry's nephew -- announced the sad news in a Facebook post ... telling fans his uncle passed away Saturday and remembering his "incredible life."

Tamblyn particularly mentioned one memory of his uncle staying with him in Arizona several years ago ... adding his uncle was still making music well into his later years. He did not provide a cause of death.

Nick Viall's wife has revealed she suffered her second miscarriage ... only a few months after her first.

Natalie Joy made the announcement in an emotional post on her Instagram Story on Sunday -- saying she miscarried "this past week."

She says while she and Nick were in the process of "mourning the loss of our second baby at the beginning of this year, I quickly and very unexpectedly found out I was pregnant again. It took some time for me to accept what had happened only to be handed another chance so easily and so fast."

Jake Paul's sharing another look at his emotional engagement to Jutta Leerdam ... posting a video to Instagram capturing the monumental moment.
